Stages. What a great word. Not just because it's the name of this magazine (which I'm quite fond of) but because it applies to all of us. Our lives are often catagorized into stages... childhood, young adult, mid-life, empty-nester. As individuals we tend to break things down into stages... we take things "one step at a time."

Oftentimes, I daydream of times past and times future; wondering what the next stage of our life will bring. Then, as I stand at my kitchen island an am literally shot back into reality by the crossfire of Nerf darts, I take in the beauty of my present... the place that my family calls home now. While it is not a million dollar home (the majority of homes we find between the covers of magazines), it is a comfortable, well-decorated and nicely appointed home that I love, Nerf darts and all.

As you thumb through the pages of a Stages Mississippi magazine, the Stages Mississippi website or the online issue of Stages I hope that the mission of Stages will "shoot" you like bright orange Nerf darts. We all have different careers and income levels. Our homes run the gamut in square footage and monetary value. At Stages Mississippi, it is our belief that beauty and creativity knows no title, pay check, measurement or price tag.

Each issue of Stages Mississippi has three full home features as well as three mini-features; The Lion's Den (a space a man would love), Enter at Your Own Risk (a space a young person would love) and Cook's Delight (a fabulous kitchen).
